Now that you have decided which size canopy is best, now you need to determine what style umbrella are you looking for. SimplyShade offers three different styles to choose from which include Market, Cantilever and Specialty. Market umbrellas are the traditional style umbrella with the pole located in the center of the umbrella. Market umbrellas come in various material and finish options as well as different opening mechanism and tilting features. Cantilever or “off set” umbrellas have canopies that are supported from above with a post to the side which allows you to shade a large area without the obstruction that a center pole causes. Lastly, specialty umbrellas are usually shaped uniquely like the Capri to shade areas where a market umbrella or a cantilever cannot, or they have special features like the Isabela that has tassels that hang around the brim of the umbrella canopy.
Now that you have a size and a style in mind, let’s move on to Material. The good news is the majority of SimplyShade umbrella frames and ribs are made of quality powder coated aluminum with the exception of the Ibiza specialty umbrella that is made of anodized aluminum with hardwood ribs and the Tahiti and Capri specialty umbrellas that are made of lightweight aluminum frames.
When considering material, you’ll really want to take the material of the fabric for the canopy into consideration. SimplyShade offers two different fabric options and below is a side-by-side comparison. When deciding which fabric is best you will want to consider the type of fabric, the fabric’s UV rating, the fabric’s UPF (sun blocking) properties and the length of the warranty.
